About Me : NOTE: I have a strong preference for US-based profiles. Therefore, please do not express interest unless you already live in the US, plan to move here, or travel here quite frequently. MYSELF: I have now been based in the US solely on my own since August 2002, an experience that has made me fiercely independent; I became a US citizen in 2022. I was born in Kuwait, but grew up as an NRI mostly in Oman and partly in the UK. I go to India all the time, at least once a year to visit family. My interests are very eclectic, just a few of them are: reading (personal library of ~160 books), traveling (54 countries), languages (know ten of them with varying levels of fluency), art, international affairs, politics, etc, the list goes on. Here are 7 random things about me: 1. I have not owned a TV in 18+ years! Have absolutely nothing against them (or you if you watch regularly), it's just that I have never gotten around to getting one. 2. 95%+ of my extensive travels have been completely solo. I find that it's an amazing way to meet new people from all walks of life while getting to know the local culture. 3. I run a channel with videos of hotel rooms I have stayed in. Not going to get rich off of it anytime soon.... 4. I have a strange obsession with finding and hanging out at unique, non chain coffee shops (rooftop bars are a close second). Ironically, the actual coffee itself doesn't matter that much. 5. I have been following Art of Living meditation courses since 2006 and do meditation almost daily. 6. Culture is extremely important to me and a large portion of how I spend my time outside work. Whether it is catching a play at a local theatre, dance performance, comedy show, art gallery visit, museum, etc, I thoroughly enjoy all such activities! 7. I have been complimented many times for my ability to talk to almost anyone on almost any topic. Someone I had gotten to know during my travels emailed this of me after our travels: "You know mate, I think back to the times we spent chatting, and also consider what I spontaneously mentioned to you about your personality and ability to communicate at any and every socio-economic level, social environment and social era.... and consider to myself the very few times I can say I have recognised that in someone." EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina. I have a very genuine curiosity about most things in life - if I had unlimited time and money, I'd major in many topics! WORK: Nine years consulting and tech experience (Ernst & Young, Capgemini, eBay), currently working for a global Japanese insurance company as a Technology Business Relationship Manager. Love what I'm doing as long as I'm doing new, exciting things! FAMILY DETAILS: Dad is a senior, highly qualified doctor (MD from AIIMS in New Delhi, FFARCS from UK) based in Pune, India. Mother and brother are deceased. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: This sounds really clich?, but I really am looking for someone who is a good mix of Eastern and Western values. I have lived outside India my entire life, yet India is a very important part of me, so a "Global Indian" would probably be the best match for me. Prefer a cultured lady who would be a better half, has the confidence/social grace/etiquette when dealing with all types of people. She should enjoy meeting people from many different backgrounds, social circles, etc. I tend to not follow conventional wisdom all the time (or at the very least, I question such pieces of wisdom), so someone similar would be great
